B is for

Blue Glass! 

What can I say, I love my blue glass

 and I especially love my Blue Birds!

I am a big fan of these Blue Birds of Happiness created at Terra Studios, Inc.  I have found all of mine at thrift shops and yard sales and they just make me so happy!

Of course I had to start collecting other blue glass to go with those sweet birds!   All my finds are from thrift shops or yard sales! 

I like finding these smaller pieces that will sit on my windowsill so the light can shine through them!

This little guy was not made at Terra Studios and he was found at an Antique Mall...love him sitting on his blue pillow!

Too Long Gone

It's been a wild summer and keeping up with 

A La Carte took all my blogging time.  Still I miss posting photos and enjoying them here on this blog!  So finally some random shots from the summer that was crazy!

We started feeding this cute guy and now he is part of our family.  Mr Toes!

There was new growth

Freedom in a run through a summer sprinkler

The Butterfly garden bloomed and 

brought many lovelies to the yard

The Hydrangea Tree was lush and full of blooms

Sweet Charlie turned 14!

It's been hot here in Texas

So none of us are moving too fast!

Sam is ignoring me!  Mom's cat is a fun little guy!

He makes me miss my Charlie a little less.....
but not much!!

This is the X-Ray from my Son In Law Blake's surgery on his broken ankle last summer!

I am so glad he is doing well now but he is thinking of having those two side screws removed as they are causing him some problems

He loves outdoors so has new shoes!

V is for Very Very Happy

Back in November I did a 'B' post for Brother

When I left Texas I thought I would not see my brother again...boy was I wrong!

So I am VERY VERY Thankful!

In November my brother was given a very short time to live...but lots of prayers later he is doing so much better!   

Wednesday Mom and I drove over to see him.  He looks great!  He has gained weight and his color is good and he can get around without his walker!  The Doctors say if he takes care of himself he can last a year at least.  

He is still ill and could take a turn for the worse at any time but for now he is still here.  Still my baby brother and he can still make me laugh!

Thank you God for you many Blessings to my family and for giving me more time with my brother!

Photo Scavenger Hunt 4-15-12

I missed last weeks scavenger hunt but made sure to get photos this week!  I really enjoy this challenge each week!  To see others be sure to stop by Ashley's Rambings and Photos!

1. Simple

This jar is so simple but so beautiful

I saw the grain of our wood fence with the ivy growing on it and loved the contrast

3. Transportation

Driving to Texas yesterday in my car and crossing the Mississippi River....love my GPS!

This is something my Mom made and it is stitched with Love!

Unforgettable

Can you imagine remembering every detail of your life?  The good and the bad!  I can't begin to fathom how hard that might be. 

This condition is called highly superior autobiographical memory (HSAM) 

A new TV show on CBS is called

Unforgettable and is about a NY cop starring Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells who has HSAM and uses it to help solve murders.

It's a pretty good show and I enjoy watching it.  I must admit it makes me think about remembering everything and really how hard that would be to handle.  

Marilu Henner, the actress, has HSAM and is the consultant on the TV show.

 She did a 60 Minutes interview and you can read an interesting report on her HERE.  Only six people in the world are known to have HSAM.

Marilu suspects her 15 year old son has it but is too young to be tested.
